Our Workshop

Our bespoke framing service specialises in preserving your favourite possessions for you and future generations to enjoy in a way that complements your surroundings. We offer a comprehensive and diverse collection of frame profiles and mountboards from contemporary to traditional styles. The moulding suppliers we deal with are committed to supporting and promoting FSC standards. As members of the Fine Art Trade Guild we only use quality products and proven techniques in our open workshop. We work to either commended, conservation or museum standards. We can also facilitate art conservation and restoration using highly respected experts who perform these specialist tasks on our behalf.

The Five levels of framing:

You have a choice about how much or how little you want to safeguard your picture/object. There are five levels of framing as set down by the Fine Art Guild for you to choose from. A brief summary appears below.

Minimum	Putting economy first – Chalkhill Framing does not frame at this level
Budget	Visually pleasing but offering no long term protection, not recommended for items of value
Commended	Guarantees a degree of protection, with design playing an important part, standard materials used
Conservation	All materials used are designed to protect your artwork for future generations. This is our preferred level of framing
Museum	No expense spared, the ultimate protection for your artwork
